Cyclone tailgate coming to FD Wednesday

—AP Photo/Sue Ogrocki Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell celebrates with linebacker Tymar Sutton (43) after the Cyclones' upset victory against the third-ranked Sooners on Saturday in Norman, Okla.

The annual Iowa State University “Cyclone Tailgate Tour” will be paying Fort Dodge a visit at noon on Wednesday.

Admission is free and open to all fans and friends of the Cyclones at Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota. Doors open 30 minutes prior to the event.

The annual statewide tour features a traveling caravan of Iowa State coaches, student-athletes, spirit squads and “Cy,” powered by MidAmerican Energy. Matt Campbell (football), Steve Prohm (men’s basketball), Bill Fennelly (women’s basketball), Kevin Dresser (wrestling) and Christy Johnson-Lynch (volleyball) are scheduled to appear, along with athletic director Jamie Pollard and John Walters, the “Voice of the Cyclones.”

There will be door prizes, officially licensed Iowa State apparel for sale by Cy’s Locker Room, concessions, photo opportunities with Cy, and featured student-athletes. There will be a brief program, but otherwise, the event offers an open-house schedule.

The Cyclone Tailgate Tour has stopped in Audubon, Council Bluffs, Sioux City and Okoboji so far. After Fort Dodge, it will visit the Surf Ballroom at Clear Lake on Wednesday night; Knoxville and Bettendorf Monday; Dubuque and Cedar Rapids next Tuesday; and Marshalltown and Waterloo next Wednesday.

Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota is located at 2723 5th Ave. S.
