Five Iowa Western players reached double figures to lead the Reivers past Iowa Central here Saturday afternoon, 85-51.

Sommer Blakemore scored a game-high 17 points and Aubriana Noti had 15 and 10 rebounds for Iowa Western, which improved to 10-7 on the year.

For the Tritons (9-5), Shariah Smith had 12 points, Avery Terwilliger and Brittany West chipped in eight each, and Jessica Jackson added five and nine rebounds off the bench.

“That is a big, big talented team with a lot of athletic players,” ICCC head coach Kelly Kruger said. “They are a very tough (NJCAA) Div. I team.”

The Reivers slowly put the game away, pushing a seven-point advantage in the first to as many as 11 at the break. Noti had nine of her 15 in the opening half, with Binta Salawu scoring eight.

“I thought we responded well in the second half,” Kruger said. “We had some good individual performances from people like Jessica Jackson, Justice Crooks and Shariah Smith.

“But we didn’t get enough production from some of the other kids.”

Crooks and Kira Ward each had six points for Iowa Central, with Terwilliger also dishing out four assists.

Iowa Western held a 40-18 advantage on points in the paint and outscored the Tritons in the fourth, 27-9.

Next action for Iowa Central will be on Wednesday when they travel to Mason City to face third-ranked NIACC (10-3).
