ALGONA — The St. Edmond volleyball team was swept by Algona here Thursday night.

Scores were 25-16, 25-14 and 25-13.

Josie Huss and Chloe Lewison each had five kills to lead the Gaels, with Jacque Oberg adding 14 assists, two kills and was 7-for-8 serving.

“We came out flat and never got in a rhythm,” SEHS head coach Dee Huss said. “We need to be playing with most consistency, but we are struggling to put it all together for an entire match right now.”

The Bulldogs snapped a two-match North Central Conference losing streak with the win.

St. Edmond won the freshman match, 22-15, 23-21; with Algona claiming victory in the junior varsity match, 30-28, 15-21, 15-5.

The Gaels return to action Tuesday at Manson Northwest Webster, with Algona set to host Hampton-Dumont here next Thursday.
