BG, Arndorfer runner-ups at CYO

The St. Edmond boys golf team placed third here Wednesday afternoon at the CYO, as Andrew Gibb finished seventh overall.

Carroll Kuemper took home top team honors, with Bishop Garrigan finishing second.

Nate Mertz and Jared Tigges of Kuemper, along with Andrew Arndorfer from Bishop Garrigan, all fired low rounds of 76. Tigges won the tiebreaker for top individual honors with Arndorfer taking second.

Gibb, a junior, carded an 83.

Other scorers for the Gaels included Drew Schaeffer, who fired an 85 to finish in a tie for 10th, Sean Flaherty, who had an 89 and placed 14th, and Tommy Lennon, who was 16th with a 94.

Arndorfer had matching 38s on the front and back nine holes, including a double eagle on the par-5 10th at Lakeside Golf Course.

Garrigan’s Tommy Kollasch had 84 to tie for eighth. Parker Schiltz had a 92 to place 15th, and Grayson Rowlett a 97.
