Dodger boys win six events
MARSHALLTOWN — The Fort Dodge boys swim team won six events on Thursday against Marshalltown, but lost the dual 94-76.
Landon Getting and Andrew Fierke doubled up for the Dodgers.
Getting won the 200 IM in 2:14.02, just ahead of teammate Eli Asay (2:16.10). Getting also won the 100 butterfly (59.10).
Fierke cruised past the field in the 500 freestyle, touching the wall in 4:50.25, 44 seconds ahead of the second place finisher.
Fierke also won the 50 freestyle in 22.72.
Asay was the 100 breaststroke champion in 1:06.31.
The Dodger quartet of Getting, Asay, Fierke and Ben Lennon won in 1:46.44
J.R. Brandt was second in the 200 freestyle (2:01.15).
The 200 freestyle team of Getting, Brandt, Asay, Fierke (1:34.40).
The quartet of Isaac Hage, Lennon, Jeremy Brower and Brandt were second in teh 400 freestyle (3:42.06).
Ben Lennon (100 freestyle) and Brandt (100 backstroke) were third.
The Dodgers are back in action on Saturday when they head to Johnston for the CIML Meet.
