DES MOINES — The Iowa Central track team took part in a handful of events Thursday at the Drake Relays.

Freshman Agnes Mansaray set a new school record with a time of 2:09.78 to place third in the women’s 800 unseeded event.

Mansaray was behind Kent State’s Olivia Gaus (2:09.18) and Utah’s Caitie Faust (2:09.46). All three came out of the first heat, with Gaust climbing from 10th after the first 400 to runner-up.

Karim Achengli placed 11th in the 5000 with a time of 14:08.82. He was as high as ninth during the race, which was won by Drake’s Reed Fischer in 13:48.32.
