Indians bounce back

LAURENS – The seventh-ranked Pocahontas Area/Laurens-Marathon boys knocked off Storm Lake St. Mary’s 75-48 on Friday night.

Tanner Youngberg led the Indians (13-3 overall) with 23 points. Austin Roetman added 15.

Wildcats rally in second half

HUMBOLDT – The Humboldt boys basketball team picked up an 81-65 victory over Iowa Falls-Alden on Friday.

The Wildcats (6-10 overall) rallied, outscoring the Cadets 25-11 in the third quarter.

Thomas Orness paced the Wildcats with 18 points. Drew Thomas had 16 and Devin Clark added 13.

Jace Ites had 34 for the Cadets.

MANSON – The Manson Northwest Webster boys suffered a 61-48 setback to Alta/Aurelia here Friday night.

Jackson Johnson scored 18 to lead the Cougars (4-12 overall), while Cameron Krebsbach added 13.

Huge road victory for Lynx at No. 10 Algona

ALGONA – The Webster City boys earned a 58-53 victory over 10th-ranked (Class 3A) Algona on Friday.

Alec Fuhs led the way for the Lynx (9-1 overall, 6-0 in the North Central Conference) with a game-high 22 points, while twin Avery Fuhs added 15.

The Fuhs brothers scored the last 13 points all at the free throw line over the last 2:21 for Webster City, which led the entire way.

Landon Rash contributed 20 points for the Bulldogs (9-2, 5-1), followed by Cole Banwart with 12.

HUMBOLDT – The Humboldt boys dropped a 59-53 decision to Clear Lake on Friday.

Thomas Orness led the way for the Wildcats (3-8 overall, 1-5 in the North Central Conference) with 23 points, while Mason Wickett chipped in 11.

Thomas Storbeck scored 20 points for the Lions (6-6, 4-2), followed by Parker Truesdell with nine.

GOWRIE – The Southeast Valley boys picked up a 92-50 victory over Sioux Central on Friday night.

Conner Conrad led the Jaguars (10-2 overall) with 20 points, for their ninth straight victory. Dakota Jaeschke (14) Cade King (13), Keegan Goodwin (12) and Caleb Jondle (10) all reached double figures.

Eighth-ranked Indians tally ninth straight triumph

POCAHONTAS – The No. 8 (Class 2A) Pocahontas Area boys claimed a 52-39 victory over Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire Friday night.

Tanner Youngberg and Austin Roetman each scored 14 points for the Indians (11-1 overall), while Jace Davidson added 11.

Michael Girres paced the Titans (9-1) with 10 points, followed by Andy Geelan and Nick Josephson with eight a piece.

Raiders win at home

SAC CITY – The East Sac County boys basketball team defeated Storm Lake St. Mary’s 72-53 on Friday night.

Cameron Wernimont led the Raiders (3-8 overall) with 26 points and six rebounds. Austin Brown had 14 points, while Sam Scott had a double-double with 12 points and 17 rebounds. Brandyn Clair and Levi Olhausen had 10 points each.

Michael Demers had 25 points for St. Mary’s.
