SEATTLE – The 20th-ranked Iowa football team looks to bounce back after a loss to Ohio State when they take on Washington here Friday night.
Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. CT from Husky Stadium. The game will air live on FOX.
The Hawkeyes (4-1 overall, 1-1 in the Big Ten) fell short in a ranked battle last Saturday against Ohio State, 31-14. Quarterback Hank Brown left the game early with an injury, as the Iowa ground attack never materialized.
"The good news for Hank is he's gotten a lot of reps over the last X amount of weeks, so that's the good news," Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz said. "He's limited what he can do right now, so we'll see. We can't count on him, I think that would be short-sighted on our part.
"The other good news is Jeremy's (Hecklinski) done a great job. He really has. I complimented him in our team meeting. He went and played well. I think that's a real tribute to the way he's practiced."
Hecklinski relieved Brown after he was injured vs. the Buckeyes. He also played in the season opener and saw snaps in other games earlier this season.
"He's really practiced well," Hecklinski said. "I think that showed up (last) Saturday. As I've been saying, I feel like we have two good quarterbacks right now, and I think that showed (last Saturday). We'll play with whoever is ready to go."
This marks the first of two away games for the Hawkeyes from Kinnick Stadium. They will have a bye next week before heading to Minnesota on Oct. 24.
Washington (3-2, 0-2) won three straight to begin the season before falling to Minnesota by three and USC by four. Demond Williams has thrown for over 1,300 yards and eight touchdowns, as Dezmen Roebuck is his top target, catching 35 passes for 338 yards and a TD.
"(Williams) really dynamic player," Ferentz said. "He's a good thrower. He can run. They can design runs with him. He can just pull it downa nd go. He's one of those catalyst-type players. You can tell everybody responds to him."
The defense for the Huskies ranks 34th in FBS in yards allowed per game and 37th in points allowed per game at just over 18.
