Zoey Aschinger hit a two-run homer in the top of the seventh to lift unranked Ridge View to a 2-0 upset over No. 6 Durant in Class 2A state softball action at Rogers Park on Monday.
Aschinger and the Raptors (26-7 overall) will face eighth-ranked Wapsie Valley on Tuesday at 4:45 p.m. on Hy-Vee Field.
Nora Todd pitched a three-hitter for Ridge View inside the circle, striking out six. Aschinger and Brynlee Grieme each finished with two hits, as Cora Tesch scored on the Aschinger homer.
The Raptors last made the state tournament in 2020, placing in a tie for fourth. They have reeled off nine consecutive wins, including five shutouts during that run.
For Durant (26-13), Jordan Enfield had two of the three hits. The Wildcats will play No. 11 Logan-Magnolia on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in an elimination game.
