After losing to Winterset in the Class 4A semifinals, sixth-seed Dallas Center-Grimes knocked off fourth-seed North Scott in the third place game on Thursday at Rogers Park.

The Fillies (21-10 overall) topped the Lancers (17-11) 8-4.

DCG took an early 5-2 lead and put the game out of reach with three runs in the fifth inning.

Elle Nelsen, Riley Hall, Morgan Rosenbeck and Maria Hendricks all had two hits for the Fillies. Hendricks, and Molly Cooney had doubles.

Nelsen, Hendricks, and Kylie Merical all drove in two runs.

Sydney Skarich had two hits for the Lancers. Brooke Kilburg had a double and drove in a run. Rachel Anderson, Paige Westlin and Kaylee Gerardy also drove in runs.Lani Gannon picked up the win in the circle.
