Two Fort Dodge businesses dedicated to helping people improve their health and fitness will be moving into a new location together this year.
Those businesses are Faiferlick Taekwondo, Martial Arts, Self Defense and Fitness LLC and Next Edge Performance. Both are owned by Justin Faiferlick, of Fort Dodge.
Currently, the martial arts business is located at 567 S. 25th St. It was established in 2014.
Next Edge Performance is located at 2419 Fifth Ave. S., Suite A. It offers cryotherapy, infrared sauna, fitness pod, an oxygen bar, red light therapy, pulsed electromagnetic therapy and other services. It opened in 2020.
Faiferlick said he has purchased a new facility. Because the transaction was still being completed this month, he declined to say where that facility is. However, he did say that both businesses would open there in March or April.
He said that when the new site opens, both businesses will be expanding.
Some of the most notable expansions will happen at Next Edge Performance. Faiferlick plans to add a nutritionist to the staff to help clients with meal planning and diets.
Also, some of the business’s amenities will be made accessible 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The sauna is one example cited by Faiferlick.
He said a “cardio and strength functional gym” will be created. He said it will feature free weights and equipment such as treadmills, ellipticals, and stair climbers.
During 2021, Next Edge Performance added IV therapy, cosmetic botox and vitamin booster shots to its list of services. Faiferlick said those services are provided by nurses.
The program offerings at martial arts expanded in 2021.
“We added two awesome programs we plan on continuing,” Faiferlick said.
Both of those programs are for young people. One is a summer program and the other is an after-school program. Both feature martial arts, games and exercises.
