Lots of features planned for wellness, performing arts center

The planned new wellness and performing arts center will be a 120,000-square-foot facility just east of the Warden Plaza on First Avenue South.

The wellness portion of the center will include these features:

• Two swimming pools

• Two full-length basketball courts

• A 1/10 mile track with three lanes which will be above the pools and basketball courts

• A cardio training and exercise room

• An aerobics room

• A yoga studio

• Two weight rooms

• A healthy snack cafe

A multi-purpose performance venue capable of seating up to 400 people will be the focal point of the performing arts area of the center.

That venue will be a blackbox-style theater that can be configured to suit all kinds of different productions.

The performing arts center will also have rehearsal and workshop space, a lobby where art can be exhibited and a kitchen.
