Trump’s ‘One, Big, Beautiful Bill’ supports our troops
Among the many incredible provisions of President Donald Trump’s “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” is funding for the Department of Defense. In light of current events around the globe, there is no better time for delivering President Trump’s vision for U.S. military power.
The funding included in President Trump’s reconciliation package is for an array of priorities to deter foreign aggression and keep the United States military leagues ahead of the competition. These priorities include growing and enhancing our naval power, building President Trump’s Golden Dome missile defense network, and improving the quality of life for our service members and their families.
Since 2005, Chinese ship building has seen massive growth, and the reason why is no secret. With the CCP’s focus on controlling the South China Sea — and ultimately control of the one-third of global shipping that passes through it — they have expanded their naval tonnage to about 2 million tons. Some have estimated their ship-building capacity to be nearly 230 times that of the United States. The “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” aims to bridge that divide by allocating $450 million to enhance U.S. shipbuilding.
Also included in the package is funding for the production of an incredible missile defense system for the United States. President Trump has proven how adept his foresight is in regard to our homeland security. In 2016, he was right to begin building the wall on our southern border to combat drug trafficking and illegal immigration. I now trust his foresight behind calls to build a “Golden Dome” — much like that of Israel’s effective “Iron Dome” — to protect our nation from foreign missiles. The “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” includes about $25 billion to further secure our airspace.
Most importantly, this bill sets aside more resources to take care of the brave men and women who put the uniform on each morning. Provisions in this legislation secure nearly $9 billion to improve on-post facilities, housing, health care, and special pay for service members. So far, President Trump has done incredible work for our armed forces. Passing the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” will only further boost retention and recruitment for our military.
I trust President Trump’s leadership and his vision for the United States military. His “Peace through Strength” and America First pillars are necessary changes to the way our military and foreign policy were guided for the last four years under Biden. We must get the “One, Big, Beautiful Bill” passed as soon as possible to allow our president to continue to guide the nation and strengthen our national security.
