We are community partners

At UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge, we look forward to being your community partner, not just during the hard times, but the good times also. From your partner in health care to your partner in wellness and in the community, we are dedicated to being by your side through it all.

We are excited to host, and partner with local businesses, to provide fun and educational events for our community.

In just a few weeks, on Wednesday, April 19, we will be hosting our first annual Health Fair at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center. We invite you to stop by the hospital between 4-7 p.m. to learn more about the different departments and clinics we have in our region – and talk with providers and specialists, who can help answer any specific questions you have.

The free Health Fair will include 20- plus booths set up in the lobby outside Trinity Gifts and inside Trinity Cafe. Visitors will have the option of receiving a free skin cancer screening at the Norma Schmoker Cancer Center booth, completing lab draws at the Healthy Living booth, and scheduling their annual wellness visit with our family medicine team. Booths will have information about mental health, rehabilitation services, diabetes, orthopedics and more. Visitors who stop by at least 10 booths, and complete a punch card, will be entered into a raffle drawing. The main entrance will be open for the duration of the Health Fair and visitors should use that entrance when arriving and leaving.

If you have any questions after the Health Fair, contact information will be available at the booths for you to follow up with providers and specialists. We are grateful to offer so many comprehensive, quality services to the Fort Dodge region.

On Saturday, April 29, we are partnering with Smitty’s Lawn and Landscape to host a free Mother’s Day (Pot-A-Flower) Event from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. We will provide the pot, flower, soil, and a Mother’s Day card.

Later this year, we will be partnering again with local businesses for our Back-to-School New Shoes Event, Annual Diabetes Fair, and our Meet and Greet with Santa and the Grinch. Through these free, educational, and fun events, we hope you can learn more about our organization while spending quality time with family and friends.

Not only do our teams work together to put on community events during the year, but they continue to give back through various employee donation drives. Throughout April, our Nursing Professional Image Council (IGNITE) is supporting Almost Home by collecting donations of dog and cat food, paper towels, laundry soap, and more from our team members. Later this year, they will collect school supplies for local students.

Our community is important to us, and we want you to feel comfortable and confident any time you see us – whether that is inside the hospital or out in the community. Special thanks to our wonderful and caring staff for making all of those special events happen. Caring for you and your family is important to us.

Leah Glasgo is the chief executive officer of UnityPoint Health – Fort Dodge.
