DNV Certified Hip & Knee Replacement Center

Trinity Regional Medical Center is the first and only hospital in Iowa to be recognized as a DNV Certified Hip & Knee Replacement Center, which validates the hospital’s excellence across the spectrum of hip and knee replacement care, from diagnosis to treatment, rehabilitation, education, and outcomes.

The DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program Certification, based on standards set forth by and considering the guidelines of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, recognizes program excellence in patient care and outcomes. Achieving certification affirms all the effort we have put into this program to ensure the health and safety of our patients.

ROBOTIC SURGICAL ASSISTANT (ROSA)

We have completed five knee replacements using ROSA, Zimmer Biomet’s new Robotic Surgical Assistant, and the orthopedic providers are currently being trained to use ROSA for hip replacements.

ROSA is designed to help surgeons tailor the placement of hip or knee implants specifically for each patient. ROSA collects data before and during surgery related to the patient’s unique anatomy. This data informs the surgeon what may affect the implant fit. By using this data to make more informed decisions, the surgeon can plan for and carry out a personalized surgery based upon the patient’s individual needs. Because of the precise implant placement, some patients can go home on the same day as their surgery.

They can meet with our providers and learn about their nonsurgical and surgical treatment options on the same day they present symptoms.
