To the editor:
President Trump and Republicans have closed the border to illegal immigrants, reduced the amount of fentanyl coming across the border, reduced crime to historic lows, reduced the poverty rate to an all-time low, are against men competing in women's sports, are against the mutilation of minors in the effort to change their gender, support the police and all law enforcement, created Trump Accounts providing $1,000 for children born between 2025 and 2028, arranged for the release of all the remaining Israelis held by Hamas, and passed that One Big Beautiful Bill in July 2025 that no Democrat voted for. The Bill renewed the Trump tax cuts of 2017 that Democrats were set to let expire at the end of 2025, provides for no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and gave each of you 65 and older on Social Security a minimum refund increase of $600.
Common sense stuff.
The anti-Trump media and Democrats will have you believe the only issues this November are pocketbook issues, the cost of gas, diesel and groceries and you will vote for Democrats. Democrats, influenced by the liberal progressive wing of their party, want an open border with millions again entering the country illegally and unvetted, criminals released via no-cash bail, amnesty for illegal immigrants, stacking the Supreme Court, boys in the girls locker room and showering with your daughters and granddaughters, biological males competing in women's sports, mutilating sex change surgeries for children with or without parental consent, and want universal health care (i.e., Medicare for all) where you will lose your private or employer covered healthcare.
Crazy stuff.
And then there are the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) candidates. Across the country many DSA candidates defeated establishment Democrats in the primaries and are now on the ticket this fall. Those of the DSA and the mainstream Democrats who support them want to radically change our government and country. Other than the Democrat agenda previously noted, the DSA candidates are anti-Israel, want to abolish Congress and the Supreme Court, empty the prisons, end deportation of illegal immigrants presumably including criminals, defund the police and some advocate abolishing the police altogether, defund the Department of War, abolish ICE, provide free public college tuition, free daycare, more free benefits for illegal immigrants, and then raise your taxes to pay for all of it.
Crazier stuff.
Granted, if DSA candidates win they will not hold enough seats to control Congress, but they will be emboldened by their success and will gain even more control than they already have of the Democratic Party. There are many prominent Democrats that have not distanced themselves from or rejected the radical agenda of the DSA candidates who also promote socialism. A recent Gallup poll finds 65 percent of Democrats have a positive view of socialism. Look to Venezuela and Cuba to see what socialism offers.
The promises being proposed by the more progressive liberal Democrat candidates and the DSA candidates would have an impact on you for years, lasting a much longer time period than the high price of gas, diesel and groceries. The Iran War will end soon after the election, if not before, and the prices will come down. You can count on it.
You have a choice in November. Do you want common sense or crazy?
