To the editor:
As the upcoming election approaches, we need to consider the depth of experience and true commitment our local leaders bring to the table. I am writing to express my strong support for the re-election of our incumbent Iowa state representative, Ann Meyer, who has faithfully served our community in Des Moines.
Her roots in our health care community run deep. Before her time in the legislature, she spent years serving on the front lines as a registered nurse and nurse educator. In addition, her husband, Dr. Jim Meyer, is a physician who has been proudly serving patients right here in Fort Dodge for 26 years. Together, they are true community leaders who have dedicated their lives and careers to the health and well-being of our neighbors.
That firsthand experience in patient care gives Rep. Meyer an invaluable perspective in the legislature. She knows exactly how state-level policies impact everyday patients, families, and health care workers in Fort Dodge. Over her eight years in office, she has consistently used that background to be a champion for access to high-quality health care, focusing her legislative efforts on delivering sensible solutions that put Iowans first.
We need leaders in the state House who understand the real-world consequences of the laws they pass. Her dedication, combined with her family’s clinical expertise and her eight-year track record of effective leadership, makes her the clear choice to continue representing us. Please join me in voting to keep Rep. Ann Meyer working for Fort Dodge and for Iowa.
