To the editor:

As a local business owner and active community member, I am asking you to consider voting for Todd McCubbin for City Council in the Tuesday, Nov. 4, election.

More than ever, people are working to make Fort Dodge a point of pride in the state of Iowa. We deserve City Council members who understand the complexities of city government, are driven by a passion for our city, and who would rather point to solutions, then point fingers of blame.

I have been able to see firsthand how multiple agencies and local governments work together for our county and greater region. It is vital to have representation that wants to collaborate, listen, and will creatively seek solutions that are both fiscally responsible and don’t send Fort Dodge backward.

Todd McCubbin is someone who consistently shows he is able to think outside of the box and foster new opportunities.

Ask yourself, do you want your city councilman to be someone who has an axe to grind about one or two issues, but no solutions? Or rather someone who brings executable ideas, experience with budgets and economic development, and established community connections?

The truth is, we need to elect the right people for the job, and Todd McCubbin is the right vote for City Council Ward 3 on Nov. 4.
