Recommends donations as gifts
To the editor:
It’s that time of the year when so many area nonprofits need extra help. It’s also that time of the year when I hear friends lamenting “I don’t have any idea what to get my grandchildren for Christmas. I guess I’ll just get them a gift card.”
I have a suggestion. This year make a donation to a local charity or organization in the name of your grandchildren. Help them realize the joy of giving to others. Help them discover “happy money.”
You can still give a gift card, too.
