Dismisses concerns about DC jail

To the editor:

So our state Sen. Tim Kraayenbrink thinks the 1/6 morons are being held in our version of a Nazi concentration camp? Really?

These poor souls are where they are by court order, an order signed by their trial’s presiding judge for stated and demonstrated reasons such as being a flight risk, refusal of a plea offer, and in some cases being a danger to society. You might ask what danger these Proud Boys, Oath Keepers, white supremacists and Jan. 6 rioters/insurrectionists could possibly pose, but you would not want your neighbors to know you are stupid.

Getting back to Tim Kraayenbrink’s concern for these individuals constitutional right to a quick and speedy trial, I am not aware of any such claim to have been made by any detainee or their attorney. But, to be fair, I had not been aware of our public school Furry litter box infestation until Tim told us about it last year.

The concern that people are being held in the intolerable conditions of a D.C. jail may have merit, but where was this concern when the typical inmate was not white?

As bad as the D.C. jails may be, these guys appear to have special status. They are segregated from the general population, have TV, laptops, special privileges and do not have to share a cell. So forget the concentration camp/gulag baloney.

One last thing. I would advise Tim not to hitch his wagon to the likes of Marjorie Taylor Greene unless he is in a race to the bottom.
