Compliments local gem

To the Editor:

We would like to take this opportunity to let our local community know what a gem we have in the Fort Dodge Community Orchard. One week before our daughter’s wedding and rehearsal dinner, the mother of the groom (who is not from the area) discovered that the venue she had reserved for the rehearsal dinner nearly a year ago was no longer going to be able to fulfill its contract. We were then forced to find a new venue for 75 guests with one week’s notice. Because the groom’s mother is not local, I began making calls. Not knowing if the Community Orchard was open for events during the summer we contacted the new owners, Denny and Emily Stucky, who immediately and without hesitation said yes! That same night Emily visited with our daughter and her fiance and put together a plan.

The event only one week later was perfect, and more than our daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law could have ever hoped for! The service was second to none, and they had decorated and personalized the event to go along with her wedding vision! The food was incredible, and they even provided the Back 40 for the over 25 children attending. They even had games for the adult kids!

This evening was all provided with smiles, kindness, and enthusiasm. We are blessed to have the Community Orchard in Fort Dodge, and encourage all of you to support this wonderful young family as they begin their new venture as owners of the orchard. You will not be disappointed!
