To the editor:

Congratulations on the outstanding coverage of Senior High’s award-winning 95th annual musical theater presentation “Footloose.” Lindey Krug, stage director, Matt Drees, vocal/choral director, their staff and students highly acclaimed performance recently at the Des Moines Civic Center certainly warranted front page coverage that was given in The Messenger. This recent musical theater festival is a wonderful addition to music education in Iowa.

I was privileged to direct and conduct 31 consecutive musicals at FDSH from the 40th through the 70th. I surely hope that I will still be around when they perform the centennial show in five years. What an exciting celebration that will be!

This wonderful tradition continues on in grand fashion. Bravo!
