To the editor:

We wish to thank all of our sponsors and supporters of the annual grocery raffle that we held in October and November. We want to announce the winners of the gift cards from the Hy-Vee, Fareway and Walmart stores that help with this project. The five winners are Ben Johnson, Stef Pritchard, Steve Rethwisch, Gene Trexler and Randy Slawson. Thanks all for participating as this was not easily accomplished with the COVID-19 going on and the restrictions of not selling at the store, but somehow our club members, sponsors, and friends pulled it off and it was as successful as it could have been. We could not have done such a job without the sponsors and supporters of the Fort Dodge Evening Lions Club.

At the meeting which took place at JaMar, the Fort Dodge Evening Lions honored two of our sponsors with the Warren Coleman Award that is given to individuals or sponsors for their outstanding contributions over the years. The two sponsors this year were Gunderson Funeral Home and Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home. This award is given out by the Iowa Lions Foundation and consists of a beautiful plaque and pin. Luke Laufersweiler and Phil and Rob Gunderson were at JaMar to accept their award. We congratulate these two sponsors and hope to continue to serve our community in the future.
