A big thanks to heroes in health care

To the Editor:

This past year I have been fortunate to be working with several amazing individuals in our community whom I need to personally acknowledge. The doctors and staff at UnityPoint Urology, Oncology Center of Iowa in Fort Dodge and the local VA Medical Clinic are awesome. I can’t thank them enough for the care I’ve been receiving from each one of them. Fort Dodge is truly blessed to have these individuals working in our community. Cancer is scary but the support I have received from these people, my wife and all my family and friends is priceless.

Dr. Hardie, Ken, Don, Julie and all the awesome people in the Radiation Oncology Department, and Dr. Mark Newton. Jordan, Jamie and all the staff in the UnityPoint Urology Department are so dedicated to making the experience as comfortable as possible.

The local VA clinic, Debbie Ladd, her nurse Carrie and the rest of the staff make it so easy to apply and receive veterans’ benefits. They are very dedicated individuals who care deeply about veterans and helping them with their needs. Fort Dodge is lucky to have such a fine facility and staff in our community.

Fort Dodge is so very fortunate to have these incredible doctors come from Waterloo and McFarland Clinic in Ames to fulfill our Urology and Radiation Oncology needs. They are truly the most dedicated and caring individuals I have ever encountered. Their competence, professionalism and their capability to instill the utmost confidence in their abilities gave me the assurance needed to put me at ease during my treatment. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your support. I couldn’t make this journey without all of you.
