To the editor:

The Fort Dodge Evening Lions wish to announce the winner of the 2003 Chevy Silverado that was drawn for on Aug. 8 at the Fort Dodge Ford and Ja-Mar Cruise. Wonderful turnout and tickets were completely sold out by 6:30 p.m. The drawing was held at 7 p.m. and the lucky winner was Cheryl Hurdel of Fort Dodge.

We want to thank all of our sponsors as well as many friends, neighbors and all the people who bought tickets from the Evening Lions in June and July. It is always a challenge to sell the tickets and make this a great project for all the local people that we donate to and also the state and international Lions that we support and serve during the year.

We will be doing a few more projects this year which will include a symposium on mental health in September which will give people the opportunity to see what our local emergency and government agencies have to help people with mental health issues. Next will be candy days in October and last will be a grocery raffle in October, November and December.
