A message to the class of 2020

To the editor:

From a member of the St. Edmond class of 1970 to the members of the class of 2020, Congratulations! You made it. Sure, you’re missing out on a quarter of direct instruction inside your school building, prom, spring sports, concerts, and events, and most of all, time with your friends before graduation. You may be uncertain about your future while some of your classmates seem to have it all figured out. But when you reach the point in life that my classmates and I have reached, you will realize that your senior year ending with a fizzle instead of a bang will be just a blip on the radar of life. There’s so much more out there for you.

The world needs you — each and every one of you. As we have learned from COVID-19, there is no insignificant job. Wherever you end up on the employment spectrum, just remember to be your best because you matter. You matter to all of us.
