What is a patriot?
To the editor:
What is a patriot at this point in time? During the second world war our government printed posters with a picture of Uncle Sam pointing his finger straight at you with the words “I want you”. President John F. Kennedy in his inaugural speech said, “Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
Our country again needs our help. We are in a war against a vicious virus. Our citizens and our economy have suffered greatly from this virus. Our government is fighting back with an economic stimulus package. If you are one of those who receive a stimulus check, your government only asks one thing of you. “Spend it.” Spend it and you have answered President Kennedy. Spend it and you have told Uncle Sam that you will help. Spend it and you are a patriot.
