To the editor:

The FD Evening Lions Club wish to thank all of our sponsors, friends, family and all who purchased tickets for our grocery giveaway. Our sincere thanks goes out to the participating stores, Walmart, Hy-Vee and Fareway for their donations and welcome to sell tickets in their stores. We drew six names to win $200 in gift cards: Rob Gunderson, Jerry Ehn, Mel Verschoor, Crystal Frank, Terri Benson and Jodi Presswood.

We are very pleased with the results of the giveaway and wish all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We help out several individuals and organizations with the money we earn – glasses, kids sight, Lions youth camp and money to several charities in town and state and international benefits.

Thanks also to our members that help do our projects during the year. We took up donations from members for the food pantry for X-mas also.

Iowa Lions Foundation presented our club two plaques to be given to whoever we feel is a big help and contribute to our club. The two businesses that were presented were to Kemna Auto — given to Eric Hippen — and Troy Waller Auto Body. It will be presented to Troy by our member Bill Oberhelman. Thanks again from the FD Evening Lions Club.
