100+ volunteers from Twin Lakes and surrounding towns helped at the event, plus many lake residents cheered on the athletes as they passed their homes. I would like to share comments from four of our participants:

Cale Kistler, Lake City: “I have done the Duathlon here two times and it has been an awesome race both times! Tons of volunteers and people out around the lake to cheer you on.”

Nichole Gadbury Recker, Arlington : “THANK YOU!! THANK YOU to the Twin Lakes Community for a fantastic triathlon today! As a participant, it is so nice to see so many volunteers and the community out cheering us on. We may not always wave back (we’re saving our energy to reach the finish line), but it is greatly appreciated and propels us on! THANK YOU!!”

Carrie Bunda, Pocahontas : “those cheering us on kept me going! Such an awesome time.

Allison Taylor, Harlan: “Huge shout out to the community for sitting out at your driveways and cheering us on as we competed Saturday. It was great to have all the cheering and see all the support. “
