Friends of St. Edmond Ball a success

To the editor:

As co-chairs of the 36th Friends of St. Edmond Ball we would like to send a tremendous thank you to the community for making the 2019 ball a record setting one. Our theme this year was “Together We Can” and together we did! With your help and support we were able to raise $315,000 net of expenses. The Ball is the school’s main fundraiser each year. These funds have had an enormous impact on St. Edmond’s ability to remain committed to the mission of providing the highest quality education in a faith based and service focused environment.

Highlights of this year’s Friends of St. Edmond Ball and weekend included:

• The Friends of St. Edmond golf outing on Friday had 22 foursomes.

• The Friends of St. Edmond basketball tournament moved to the weekend of the ball. Our most experienced player was from the class of 1965 and 73 other alumni and friends of St. Edmond participated. The SE class of 2009 was the winner of the tournament.

• The Friends of St. Edmond vendor fair had over 50 vendors and contributed $2,070 to the school

• 560 car, flooring and groceries raffle tickets were sold

• A successful live and silent auction raised record funds

• 87 sets of supplemental religion books were sponsored, for a $100 each, the night of the Ball

• A matching gift pool provided $32,000 in matching funds for new and increased gifts to the ball

• New and increased gifts to the ball totaled $36,000 and fully utilized the matching gift pool

• Students participated in giving to the ball through a change challenge and step it up fundraiser

St. Edmond Catholic Schools have been and continue to be a tremendous asset to the Fort Dodge community and region. Thank you for supporting this annual event to ensure a bright future for our school and our areas future workforce. Together we can make a difference. Together we can teach future generations the value of giving. Together we can inspire others. Together we did make the 2019 SE Ball a huge success!
