Veterans event was a success

To the editor:

On April 11, the Webster County Veterans Affair Commission held two sessions for veterans, spouses and widows, to give them valuable information and current details concerning Veterans Administration benefits for which they may be eligible. We had an excellent turnout, with over 80 people attending either the afternoon or evening session. We were very pleased with the number of attendees and the time they devoted to being there, so that we could talk with them and answer questions, providing one-on-one assistance in many cases.

We will plan more of these programs in the future, and we hope to have many more veterans, spouses and widows attend so that we can be sure they are applying for and receiving all of the benefits to which they are entitled.

A big THANK YOU goes to The Messenger and local radio stations for publicizing the event so thoroughly; to the VFW for hosting the event; to the individuals who attended; and to all veterans for their service and their continued allegiance and dedication. We encourage all veterans, spouses and widows to contact us at any time with any and all questions and issues, at 515-573-1479.
