To the editor:

Our father, Merrill, is the right candidate for District 4 because we believe he has proven himself thus far to be a great Supervisor. Over the past six years, we have watched our dad selflessly dedicate his time to the improvement of Webster County and have experienced first-hand his passion for the job. We appreciate you taking the time to read this letter which we hope will provide you with a better understanding of why we are adamant about him being re-elected as Webster County Supervisor.

Personal qualities our father has that make him fit for the position include his dire commitment to the betterment of the place he has called home his entire life and his strong desire to serve others. Growing up, he instilled in us the importance of taking pride in our family roots, giving back to our community, and contributing to the common good of others. He has also taught us how simply being kind to others and treating everyone equally makes the world a better place. He is a people-person, someone who can hold a conversation with anyone, and a people-pleaser, someone who is always looking out for others.

Professional qualifications he possesses include an extensive entrepreneurial background, as well as six years of current experience working alongside his fellow Webster County Supervisors. He opened his first business, an ice cream shop on south 22nd St., at the age of 18. He also owned and operated a real estate firm for several years and successfully re-established the neighborhood bar and grill on Second Avenue North. His 40-plus years of business, finance, and customer service experience is hard to match.

We strongly believe our father is the right person to represent the residents of District 4. Please vote to re-elect Merrill Leffler on Nov. 6.
