Ride safe
To the editor:
As avid enthusiasts of motorcycle riding, we are geared up for the riding season.
As always, we use every means possible to ensure a safe, injury-free riding season. We use safe riding practices, which we review routinely by attending special training courses. We ride in groups, with friends whenever possible, as we know there is safety in numbers. We enjoy the fresh air and sunshine, the fellowship and the adventures we experience by riding.
We are normal people with families just like yours. We come from all walks of life and various ages. We are factory workers, teachers, doctors, nurses, students, business owners, police and firemen. We are sons, daughters, mothers, fathers, grandparents and grandchildren.
Motorcycles are vehicles with the same rights and privileges as any motor vehicle on the road. Please look twice, three times if necessary, to ensure the roadway is safe for you to proceed. All motorists are reminded to “share the road” with motorcycles and be extra alert to keep motorcyclists safe. Motorcyclists are reminded to make themselves visible to other motorists also.
Your awareness could make a very important difference in our lives as well as yours.
Ride safe, ride freeand remember to share the road.
