Lifeworks fundraiser a success

To the editor:

Approximately 285 people helped celebrate and raise funds for the LifeWorks Charitable Foundation on Nov. 2. This event was our best-attended fundraiser that generated the largest net proceeds to date. What a great event! We were thrilled with the event’s success, and wish to thank the many organizations and people who contributed time, talent, and treasure.

We enjoyed music from Josh Gibbons, Brent Ferguson, and Like Steinkamp. We heard the comedic talent of Matthew Jacobsen. Eagle Grove Technology Director Lance Lennon, Webster County Supervisor Mark Campbell and Airport Manager Rhonda Chambers did a great job as talent judges. Jim Reed served as our Entertainment Emcee, adding humor to the evening as well. We are thankful to Fort Frenzy for providing such a wonderful venue, and to Teresa Smith for her coordination.

Many volunteers worked hard to make the event successful. In addition to LifeWorks staff and Foundation Board members, these individuals worked to ensure a great fundraiser: Pamela Kay, Dawn Larson, Jan and Al Link, Dr. Matt Maggio, Todd McCubbin, Deb and Brian Shriver.

The event would not be successful without its sponsors. Gold level sponsors included Availa Bank, Bank Iowa, Beckenbaugh Rentals, Drs. Eric and Carey Bligard, Cargill, the Center for Allergy, Asthma and Immune Disorders PC, Eastwood Realty, Fort Dodge Ford, Fort Frenzy, the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Jensen Builders, Kemna Auto, the Kiwanis Clubs of Fort Dodge, Jan and Al Link, Maggio Dental Clinic, Northwest Bank, Bob and Janet Singer, Shimkat Motors, and Woodruff Construction.

Silver sponsors included: Central Financial Group, Civitan, Dr. Bruce Cochrane DDS, DA Martin Construction, Don Peart Custom Homes, First State Bank, Flooring America, the Fort Dodge Messenger, Fort Dodge Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery PC, Dr. Russell Heun DDS, Humboldt Newspapers, Kallin Johnson Monument Company, Mid Iowa Insurance, Molyneaux Insurance, Roberta and John Nigro, Osborn Stubbs Law Office, Pat Kelley Construction, Riley Armstrong Plumbing and Heating, Ross’ Appliance, Thompson Eich and Tyrrell CPAs, TP Anderson and Company, United Healthcare, Wendy’s, and 97.7 The Bolt.

We look forward to the challenge of making next year’s event even better.
