Opposes Donald Trump

To the editor:

Back in the late 1940s we had an English teacher who had a recommended reading list for book reports. One of the titles on her list was a book written by John Hersey named “Hiroshima.” It was a book based upon the survivors’ experience of the atomic bomb dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, Aug. 6, 1945. It is a gruesome read. Fast forward to the present. The United States, along with many other countries, has nuclear weapons that make the atomic bombs of World War II seem like firecrackers. To be brutally honest, nuclear war in our time will end life on our planet as we know it today.

Many factors, far too numerous to list here, make Donald Trump unfit to be president. However, there is one issue that should really concern all Americans. The president is charged with keeping the nuclear codes. Translation, he or she can make the decision to alter life on Earth. If you have listened to any of Donald Trump’s rhetoric, he does not have the judgment, temperament or experience to be commander-in-chief. He doesn’t even come close. Don’t take my word on this, just listen to his comments or read what he has said about nuclear weapons.
