Flying the Confederate flag
To the editor:
When I drive to Fort Dodge or visit Clare I see a Confederate flag flying full mast.
I wonder what is behind such an ignorant and disrespectful act?
Iowans sent over 60,000 men to fight in the Civil War – 13,001 iowa men died.Their lives were sacrificed against a very sad civilization of the South built on the backs of less fortunate people. I’m all about free speech, but why disgrace us with your ignorance.
If you really believe the flag represents something wonderful then move to Alabama and live with the others glorifying a lost cause long forgotten by most.
