Lauds workshop on violence
To the editor:
Workplace violence and all kinds of disasters can be devastating to a business. Some businesses will not recover without proper planning. As difficult as it maybe to discuss, the proactive direction of developing a contingency plan is the way for to protect employees, the businesses and all the other entities that will be affected.
“Violence in the Workplace” workshop that was sponsored by Webster County Crime Stoppers, Fort Dodge Police Department, Webster County Sheriff Department, Webster County Emergency Management, Wells Fargo, First State Bank, Gunderson Funeral & Cremation Services, Iowa Central Community College, Infinity Restaurant Group and Spin Markket was well attended by area businesses and organizations.
The attendees not only learned about contingency planning for these types of events but also some important details on how to better prepare themselves to prevent violence in the workplace.
Thank you to Michelle Cross and Lorie Alioto with Wells Fargo for traveling to Fort Dodge and presenting the workshop. Your expertise in this area was greatly appreciated and very eye-opening.
