Has praise for Sandy Mickelson
To the editor:
I was raised in Fort Dodge and left in 1976 to join the Navy. It is hard to stay connected to your roots when you spend your life on the move chasing a busy career. Sandy’s articles provided a rich connection to Fort Dodge, Webster County and the entire Midwest.
Her writings were sincere, genuine and to the point. They stayed above the fray as readers weren’t subjected to loose connections to politics or a degrading culture where Midwestern values are often misunderstood. Her world was a nice safe place to visit and reconnect. So sorry she left us early and that the book must be closed on a great writer.
