To the editor:

After listening to the wonderful sounds of children laughing and enjoying themselves yesterday, May 17, it made my day. The K-12 students from the Fort Dodge Community Schools and St. Edmond Catholic Schools combined were attending the Rachel’s Challenge at the Dodge Stadium. I was anxious to open the paper today and read about their celebration, but it didn’t happen.

Am I the only one in Fort Dodge tired of reading only about the bad stuff that is happening here again? I want to assure you that we have lots of great kids growing up in our community along with their parents’ and teachers’ support, guidance and leadership to get them where they are today. They well deserve the front page support of our local newspaper to congratulate them on their accomplishments. As far as I am concerned the bad stuff can all be move to somewhere else other than the front page.

Great job students, teachers and parents, keep up the good work.
