To the editor:

When we send someone to Washington, we expect him or her to actually stand for the law and to do what’s right. Most politicians get to Washington and buckle under the pressure of lobbyists, “experts” and the media. Chuck Grassley has been there for decades and yet he’s one of the few that don’t get thrown about by the winds and waves of Washington.

Chuck Grassley wants the people of the United States to have a say in the next Supreme Court justice. It’s completely within his responsibility to stand up for the people of Iowa and the people of the United States. The next justice will likely sit there for 20 to 30 years. Let’s let the people have a say in who it should be. I’m with Chuck Grassley, and I think Iowa should stand behind him too.
