They applaud restoration
To the editor:
We applaud the ongoing restoration of our City Hall, now 100 years old. This architecturally significant building will now continue to stand as a reminder of the struggles and successes of the daughters and sons of our early pioneers.
This structure along with a handful of other historic buildings are a large part of what defines Fort Dodge. Visitors and former residents recognize these landmarks as part of the fabric and essence of Fort Dodge, they speak to who-we-are and where we’ve been.
We should be anxious to preserve and admire such handsome and unique buildings, which are virtually irreplaceable in our modern throw-away society.
Our hope would be for future generations to use and enjoy City Hall and our other magnificent historic buildings.
Thank you to all those with the wisdom and vision to honor and highlight these treasures.
