It’s time to honor local leaders

Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance seeks nominations for Catalyst, Emerging Leader awards

Do you know anyone who has worked hard, perhaps out of the public view, to make Fort Dodge and Webster County a better place to live, work and play?

If so, a unique opportunity to honor them is at hand.

The Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance is seeking nominees for its Catalyst Award and its new Emerging Leader Award.

The Catalyst Award has long been the highest honor bestowed by the Growth Alliance.

Nominees for it should meet these basic criteria:

• Have a history of active involvement in the Growth Alliance.

• Have shown that they are an active and visionary leader who is a catalyst for action in economic and community development.

• Have demonstrated excellence in their profession or business.

• Have contributed extensive time to promote community pride and spirit

The Emerging Leader Award will be presented for the first time this year. It is for a young leader who has demonstrated a high degree of achievement in their career and in service to the community.

Both awards will be presented during the annual dinner of the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance on Feb. 27.

All nominations must be submitted by noon on Feb. 11.

Nomination forms can be found on the alliance’s web site, greaterfortdodge.com. To find the forms, go to the About Us tab, select News and then select Save the Date: Growth Alliance Annual Dinner

We encourage everybody to think carefully about anyone they know who meets the basic qualifications and would be a good candidate for these awards. There are a lot of people out there who are deeply committed to the betterment of the community, so it actually shouldn’t be hard to come up with some nominees.

We look forward to congratulating the eventual winners.

Starting at $2.99/week.
