Fort Dodge Fiber Farm & Home Show continues today

Event has moved to the Webster County Fairgrounds

Despite the crazy weather of the last 24 hours, the temperatures are sure to begin rising and residents of the Fort Dodge area will be a lot more certain that spring has indeed arrived. And with spring, comes the notion of spring cleaning.

But how about giving your home, yard or garden a whole new look? Or perhaps you just need some tips and inspiration for tackling the dreaded “honey do” list of household chores.

Whatever a person’s needs or interests in home improvement and landscaping may be, they can find valuable information at the Fort Dodge Fiber Farm & Home Show sponsored by The Messenger and Farm News.

The show began Friday and continues today. Show hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

It is important to note that the show is being held at a new location this year. It is being held at the Webster County Fairgrounds at 22770 Old Highway 169, south of Fort Dodge.

Admission is two cans of food to be donated to The Lord’s Cupboard.

About 40 vendors, ranging from contractors to companies selling backyard grills, will be at the show.

A free Chris Cakes breakfast sponsored by Fort Dodge Ford Lincoln Toyota will be served from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.

Food will be available for purchase from B.B. Ques Barbecue Store, of Fort Dodge.

Visitors to the show can register to win an efco chainsaw donated by J & A Outdoor Equipment, of Bode. A total of $750 worth of gift cards to the Iowa Outdoor Store in Fort Dodge will given away.

There will be a lot of things to see at the show. It will be well worth your time to visit it.
