It’s time to celebrate Manson

Birthday party promises food, fun and music

For some good fun this weekend, check out a party for an area town that’s hitting the big 150.

Of course, we are talking about Manson in Calhoun County, which is marking 150 years since its founding. The celebration starts today and runs through Sunday.

The action starts this evening with an appreciation meal at Heartland Bank. A truck pull will cap off the day.

Saturday’s events will include a parade, vendor fair, games for all ages, helicopter rides, historical displays and a skid loader rodeo. There will be a food court to feed hungry folks.

Gates for the Crash My Crater concert open at 5 p.m. Saturday on Main Street by Shore Side Pub and Grub. Chris Janson, who was the headliner at the Downtown Country Jam in Fort Dodge in 2019 will perform.

A pancake breakfast, community church service and a car and tractor show are on the agenda for Sunday.

We encourage everyone to visit Manson for some or even all of this celebration. It will be a great opportunity have fun, meet people and get familiar with a fine community.

We’ll see you in Manson.
