Home, Garden and Lifestyle Show begins today
Event has moved to the Webster County Fairgrounds
Since the weather is warming up nicely, residents of the Fort Dodge area are a lot more certain that spring has indeed arrived. And with spring, comes the notion of spring cleaning.
But how about giving your home, yard or garden a whole new look? Or perhaps you just need some tips and inspiration for tackling the dreaded ”honey do” list of household chores.
Whatever a person’s needs or interests in home improvement and landscaping may be, they can find valuable information at the Home, Garden & Lifestyle show sponsored by The Messenger.
It begins today and concludes Saturday.
Show hours are 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
It is important to note that the show is being held at a new location this year. It is being held at the Webster County Fairgrounds at 22770 Old Highway 169, south of Fort Dodge.
Admission is free, courtesy of Hy-Vee.
Nearly 50 vendors, ranging from contractors to companies selling backyard grills, will be at the show.
Food will be available for purchase from Feedshed Catering, of Moorland.
Canned food items will be collected for the Lord’s Cupboard in Fort Dodge.
The Fort Dodge Noon Sertoma Club will be raffling off a shed built by Fort Dodge Correctional Facility inmates who are taking carpentry courses through Iowa Central Community College. Raffle tickets cost $25. The money will support Backpack Buddies, which provides food to qualifying children so that they have something nutritious to eat on the weekends.
Heartland Hope and Homes, which builds houses for families that meet its income guidelines, will have its truck at the show today to accept donations of building supplies.
There will be a lot of things to see at the show. It will be well worth your time to visit it.
