Ag Show is an opportunity

Pay a visit to the Farm News Ag Show; exhibits, informative speakers, entertainment, prizes and more are all on the agenda

Farm News is hosting its first of two farm shows for 2019.

The one-day event will he held from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Iowa Lakes Community College, 3200 College Drive in Emmetsburg.

The show will feature exhibitors showcasing their latest state-of-the-art technology throughout 6,900 square feet of indoor exhibitor space and several acres of outside exhibit space.

The show will also offer a great lineup of speakers including Farm News columnist and owner of CommStock Investments, David Kruse; S. Elwynn Taylor, Iowa State University professor of agronomy and climatology emeritus; and Iowa Secretary of Agriculture Mike Naig.

The show will also offer the opportunity for beef producers to attend workshops for their Beef Quality Assurance and Beef Quality Assurance Transportation certifications.

Water will be served during the speaker presentations and the beef workshops courtesy of Advanced Water Systems of Spirit Lake.

Breakfast will be available on site and served by the Emmetsburg Kiwanis from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m.

Lunch is available from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and will be served from the campus cafeteria and the campus Lake Cafe.

Afternoon snacks will also be available from 2 to 5 p.m. from the Laker Cafe as well.

In addition to the exhibits and speakers, visitors to the show will be entertained by a Fort Dodge folk band, The Blue Ribbon Ramblers, which will be playing outside from noon until 4 p.m.

Show attendees will also have the chance to win three prizes being given away.

Prizes include a Homak Rally Sport blue 54-inch RD Pro Series top and bottom roller cabinet toolbox which is valued at more than $1,900. The toolbox is provided by NAPA Auto Parts — Kristat Auto Parts, LLC of Emmetsburg.

Other prizes include a Spirit II E-310 black gas grill valued at $449 sponsored by Swanson Hardware of Emmetsburg and a Sunheat 93-inch high triangle variable flame patio heater in a stainless steel finish valued at $599 sponsored by Brey’s on Seventh in Estherville.
