Hillary Clinton makes her views clear

Hillary Clinton made her feelings toward those who dare to disagree with her clear not long ago.

Speaking at a fundraiser in New York, Clinton said half of those who support Donald Trump for president belong in a “basket of deplorables.” She went on to label them “racist, sexist, homophobic, xenophobic, Islamophobic.”

No opening there to joke with her about how she really feels, is there?

Clinton tried quickly to walk back on her slam, insisting she was talking about Trump himself, not his supporters.

Knowing as we do now that Clinton probably was not feeling well the day she made these remarks – she was suffering from pneumonia – it might be tempting to dismiss her comment. Given her history and that of her chief supporter, President Barack Obama, that would not be realistic.

During his own campaign for president, Obama made his disdain for those who questioned him – people who “get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren’t like them …” – abundantly clear.

Like so many liberal politicians, the Clintons and Obama have no patience with those who disagree with them. They make it clear that for all their talk about diversity, that quality among Americans is just a political slogan to them.
