Dayton Expo is Wednesday

The trials of a hard Iowa winter are a preoccupation for everyone just now. The many pleasures of the Dayton Expo are a good way to take one’s mind off the less than optimal weather.

The event will take place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Dayton Community Center and Gymnasium, 103 First St., N.W.

The Expo – hosted by the 28 E Board and the Dayton Community Club – will feature more than 60 vendors. It has been designed by the volunteer organizers to appeal to diverse interests.

Agriculture will be a major focus, but that’s just part of the story.

Exhibitors will include:

– Webster County Iowa State University Extension Service,

– Van Diest Medical Center,

– Grandview Health Care Center,

– Tupperware,

– Scentsy and

– Norwex.

New businesses will have a chance to get better known. Established enterprises will have the opportunity to get reacquainted with their patrons.

During the Dayton Expo, Casey’s will be providing free doughnuts in the morning and coffee as long as the supply lasts. Free peanuts and popcorn for snacking will available throughout the day. The Webster County Pork Producers will be cooking a free meal beginning at noon.

A few hours spent in Dayton on Wednesday should prove not only educational, but also great fun.
