Norman J. Larson, 95, of Humboldt, formerly of Thor, died October 1, 2026, at the Humboldt County Memorial Hospital/LTC.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 9, 2026, at Badger Lutheran Church with the funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Friday at the church. Interment and military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at North Lawn Cemetery.
Norman Jean Larson, son of Joseph and Olga (Folden) Larson, was born January 18, 1931, in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He was raised on the family farm near Badger and graduated from Eagle Grove High School in 1949. Norman served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
Norman married Evelyn Berg on December 2, 1951. A lifelong farmer and animal lover, he especially enjoyed birds and could identify them by their calls. He is remembered for his strong faith, easygoing nature, and great sense of humor. He was a lifelong member of Badger Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his son Randy (Sharon) Larson of Wheaton, IL; his grandchildren, Spencer Stevenson, Mary Beth (Caleb) Lutz, Katie Larson, Michael (Reilly) Larson; great grandchildren Brooklyn, and baby boy Lutz on the way; his sister, Joann Larson (Stuart Watson) of CA; his nieces and nephews, Larry (Robin) Larson, Kathy (Larry) Hall, Kristi (Mike) Bruen, Rachel Larson, and Kirsten Watson (Courtney Longua).
He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn in 2008, his daughter LuAnn Stevenson, his granddaughter Erin Lynn Larson, his brother Lester (Betty) Larson, and his parents Joseph and Olga Larson.
Memorials may be directed towards Badger Lutheran Church.
