Michael Julian Messerly, age 74, passed away peacefully on Monday October 19, 2026. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM on Friday, October 23, 2026, at North Lawn Cemetery, 2201 N. 15th Street - Fort Dodge. Memorials may be directed to the family. Born September 21, 1952, in Alexandria, Louisiana, Michael grew up in Fort Dodge, Iowa, He went on to honorably serve in the United States Air Force, dedicating a meaningful chapter of his life to defending his nation with distinction.
Following his military service, Michael continued to live life fully, finding his greatest joy in nature and the company of those he loved. An avid outdoorsman, he spent his happiest days hunting in the woods, fishing or perfecting his swing out on the golf course. His passions connected him to the world around him and provided countless memories for the family who walked alongside him.
He is survived by his loving sisters, Laura (Jim) Richman, Julie (Mike) Shoopman and; his two children, Chad (Kayla) Messerly and Cortney (Alan) Allbee; his four grandchildren, Joselyn (Ivan) McLennan, Maggie Messerly, Madison (Blake) Zweifel, Mason Allbee, and; his great-grandson, Jayden McLennan as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ron and Joan Messerly; his wife Linda Messerly and; his nephew Jamie Ryan Lennon.
